Originally created as part of a Gold Award for Girl Scouts, these 10 mini STEAM lessons help kids (ages 10 and up) learn basic STEAM skills and STEAM topics that are needed for courses in high school and beyond. Although they are focused for middle schoolers, this doesn’t mean kids younger can not enjoy these, but they may need more guidance.

Each of these lessons help build skills needed like researching and problem solving while focusing on interesting STEAM topics. The lessons typically follow the same format: an introduction to the topic and a small warmup, and then around four activities to complete to learn more about the topic.

These lessons are free to use and we encourage FRC teams to use them as part of their outreach. The lessons can be adapted to use in both a virtual and in person setting. The goal of these lessons are to help spread free STEAM resources and encourage kids to develop a love of STEAM.
